All of our furniture is handcrafted of
5/4 Western Red Cedar. Western Red Cedar
is our feedstock because it is the finest
outdoor building material. It is light,
and the resin is poisonous to insects. Western
Red Cedar has 80% of the tensile strength
of Oak, and is pound-for-pound stronger
than steel.
Western Red Cedar is also an appearance
grade wood. We recommend
using a penetrating finish with UV protection.
This type of finish provides high aesthetic
appeal and long lasting durability.
All building supply and hardware stores
carry these finishes.
The furniture is assembled with 1 3/4”
stainless steel fasteners and special elasticized
polyurethane adhesive. This method insures
the furniture remains rigid in –40
to 120 degree temperatures.
